I grew up in a trailer and I would not recommend them to anyone. They’re poorly manufactured with cheap materials and begin showing wear and tear quicker than the average house.
Lived in some truly shitty houses. One was condemned the minute I moved out and we had had to cut glass and put windows in when we got there. But it was more or less in one piece.
Lived in a trailer for 5 years before getting this Habitat home. God. Damn. Hated it. It was in fair condition to begin with, but everything just fell apart. Damn near burned down one night when the HVAC electrical started burning through the insulation. All that and yet we had a great landlord!
Nothing is standard vs. a regular house, everything is harder to repair, and ironically costs more to repair. I’d do it again if I lost this house though. Wouldn’t take an apartment, no way.
