I can see myself doing this. After working outdoors at Lowe’s, I get the idea. Flip valve, pull hose, engage. Not like there’s any security on the water hoses. :)
My store was rather bougie, despite being a redneck suburb. We had staff that was dedicated to stocking, arranging and watering the plants. Which is what I thought would be my job. :( Even if rain was forecast, they watered all of it, twice a day, everyday. We even had a midnight shift 5-days a week, place was tight. After that experience, every other big-box garden center is shite, even other Lowe’s. But the nice, private nurseries cost an arm and a leg.
And remember kids, if they won’t go after you for shoplifting, they sure won’t go after you for proplifting! I got tons of plants from fallen cuttings and a pinch here and there. One flower I have hit me in the face driving the forklift. Mine! I’d toss them in a mostly empty water bottle till I got off work. My favorite score was some creeping jenny, which I forgot to water and killed.
