There are honorable qualities of traditional masculinity that are grossly underrated these days. Like honesty and the view that a ‘real’ man takes responsibility for their work and gets shit done. Or that a real man respects women and their sometimes very different struggles.
The completely masculine urge to sit down in the shallow water underneath the rain mushroom.
Masculinity is overrated anyway
Machismo is overrated.

Why is honesty and responsibility gendered?
“I like waffles”
“so what, you hate pancakes?”
you’re the only person asserting they are. having a trait be associated with an ideal of a gender doesn’t mean it’s an exclusive association.
In my experience, honesty and responsibility are not gendered, they’re endangered.
They’re saying the ideal man has those qualities, not that everyone with those qualities is a man.
