My family uses it for communication. In the past I managed to get them use the at the time trending tech message apps - skype, viber - there was couple more. But they never checked those.
So if I have to msg them on FB to check their msg somewhere else - that’s kinda defeats the reason.

SMS exists, or GSM calls… And the rest can go in an email if they’re unwilling to use 2 apps.
