The Good Place season 1 spoilers ("the twist")
I’ve watched the show 3 times and I still enjoy it (it’s my “comfort show”).
The vibe definitely changes on a second watch, or if you know the twist, but it’s enjoyable either way! You notice so much foreshadowing for it and the jokes remain funny (funnier when knowing the twist, in my opinion).
Anyway, the plot twist happens at the end of the first season of the show, so even if, to you, knowing it kinda stains the experience, it has 3 more seasons after the initial twist. I really recommend watching it!
It only matters for the first season. I also didn’t mind rewatching it, as there are small details here and there hinting at the big spoiler (or at least that’ll remind you of it)
Okay so I love Mike Schur, but I know the twist of The Good Place and that’s stayed me from prioritizing watching it.
My question to you is, does knowing the twist change some of the comedy for a first viewing?
No way! It’s definitely still worth a watch. I’ve never had a show make me cry so severely both from laughter and sadness. It’s beautiful!
