Meme written by the “privileged enough to not be the target of the bad guys” gang

Yours is a comment written by one privileged to not be targeted by a trillion dollar war industry every day for decades.

You’ve been given it once already.

Y’all americans should never have been given independence, you’re clearly unfit to govern yourselves.

Europe is a bunch of US vassal states continually shooting themselves in the foot and growing further reliant on the US because they’re freaking out about Russia wanting NATO to uphold its treaties.
The British Commonwealth is full of decrepit racists that can’t even keep themselves from starving or their countries from burning.
So whereever you come from youre not doing better.

Sure, buddy, we can pretend that.

Brilliant rebuttal by the way, and very impressed you managed to read all those linked texts that fast. Perhaps you would gain something if you dont just look at the scribbly symbols but try to sound them out so at understand what words they make up. It will take you a bit longer, but it will also make you able to actually understand why people disagree with you and then adress it.

I assume thats what you want, since you’re trying to argue about that very topic, and I must assume you struggled to read the text since the only other conclusion to make is that you did read it and you don’t actually have any arguments that haven’t been shot down by the text, but you’re too fucked in the head to admit that, so instead you retreat to your little den, like a hermit crab living in a soda can.

Before grabbing my rifle, I’d appreciate it if people would at least try voting first.

Vote Democrat in the general election for harm reduction, and vote in the Democratic primaries to move the party left.

Gas prices are at record highs. Whatever your thoughts are on cars or how gas may still be too cheap considering the damage it causes or whatever, the reality is that high gas prices have historically been really bad for incumbent parties in mid-terms. With that and the historic disapproval rating of Trump, there hasn’t been an election more primed for a flip than this one in our lifetimes.

It’s why they’re working so fucking hard to supress votes. They know they’re in real trouble.

People have tried voting for hundreds of years. Not once has the working class had power, beyond perhaps the brief period of reconstruction before the capitalists in the north worked with the capitalists in the south to put a stop to it. The idea that the DNC can be “pushed left” is based on a belief that the state exists outside of class society, rather than being built upon it. The capitalist state isn’t a capitalist state because capitalists control it, but because it is shaped and reinforced by the capitalist system it rests on top of. You cannot change that by simply changing who runs it.

How many times did Biden bomb Iran? How many heads of state did he arrest? How many global trade wars did he start? When did Biden kill USAID resulting in the deaths of millions worldwide? When did he make a settlement with himself to prevent prosecution of his financial crimes? When did he pardon thousands of people for trying to violently overthrow an election? When did he deploy the military on US cities to round up anyone who looked like they may be Mexican?

You’re either a fucking idiot or a right-wing troll trying to convince people not to vote against the GOP. Either way, kindly shut up and get out of the way.

I’ve been voting in every major election since 2016, and I don’t regret doing it but I do feel myself becoming more and more disillusioned each time about whether the sort of democratic machinery we’ve built is even capable of producing the sort of radical change the American empire desperately needs. I really can’t blame people who’ve concluded that voting isn’t going to work.

you should not expect anything to change by voting and history proves that substantial & enduring changes can only comes from us.

still you should vote, even if it’s for your dog, but there are better uses for it. the epstein class assumes that you will vote for one of their approved parties, so cooperating in this system the way they want you to only serves to help validate it at best.

Youre the only one talking about voting for a dog. Youre also the one who’s reducing all political action down to voting.

And you’re also the one who is arguing against “don’t vote democrat” on the basis of “we need to change things”, which seems like the least logical line of reasoning available. By doing the same thing we have done every election so far, by further entrenching the group we wish to replace or reform, we will somehow affect change because… Even though it’s the same people and the same conditions you think it will be different this time?

voting on lemmy doesn’t matter – only the stomach you have for questioning your own indoctrination does.

voting for your dog isn’t realistic, but voting for psl or green or communist is realistic and many countries have been doing it for decades and things are much better for their people as result compared to americans.

voting to change anything also isn’t realistic, but mexico proved that it was still possible in 2017 and that’s why they have president shienbaum while we’re stuck with president trump.

Accelerationism isn’t “make things bad by burning them down,” it’s accelerating the accumulation of capital and therefore the collapse of capitalism by supporting the most competent imperialists, which in this case would mean supporting the DNC. The communist take is to oppose both the DNC and GOP, the accelerationist take is to support the DNC.

There is more to do than just vote. Not voting democrat isn’t the only thing in the world.
Secondly Not voting for a candidate is not “ceding” anything, you are, by definition, not giving them something. In reality “vote blue no matter who” is “ceding your choice”, since you cede all leverage and all reason to consider you when considering popular support for policy positions, since you will vote for them no matter what. You have ceded your vote to them.

You are also using accelerationist incorrectly. An accelerationist would vote for the most competent accumulator of capital, since an accelerationist believes this to be the end-point of capitalism and this point must be reached before socialist revolution can happen. They wish to get to that point as quickly as possible. The accelerationist position would most likely lead to a person voting democrat, since they are more competent administrators of empire.

Never heard that one before. Thank goodness for the Lemmy and it’s deep well of right-think. You can truly find a diverse set of opinions here

the assumption that you’re ceding your choice or that your choice is going to make a difference is were reality gets disconnected.

the fact of the matter is, we’ve been voting this way for most of a century now and it has already lead us to the same places that your understanding of accelerationism would lead us to anyways – climate change that’s guaranteed to fuck up human civilization; a panopticon powered by AI, financed by genociders, and will keep feeding off your body for the rest of your life like you’re in the matrix; and a ruling epstein class that’s so privileged it can literally publicly flaunt it’s depraved desires to fuck/kill children with zero repercussions.

Chastising people because they voted one of the two viable options is self defeating bullshit. And drawing larger conclusions about them is wrong. Always get roped in the same tired argument on Lemmy

No, it just says you need to stay awake the other 729 days of the biannual cycle. You obviously don’t want to do that, so you pretend it says something it doesn’t.

Do I really? You got all that from this short exchange? Interesting.

I’m not getting the “get involved outside of national election cycles” vibe from this meme that you are .
