        Goddamnit I can’t help myself

This reply is amusing to me for two reasons.

First, it’s a lazy argument and this particular phrasing is inherently biased. When people talk about the right being the same as the left they usually talk about them being authoritarian. I still think that’s wrong but it makes more sense in a shallow understanding of the of the left (that’s what makes it lazy).

Extremism can only be identified in relation to other things. In order to call either the far left or the far right extreme, they must be compared to what the viewer considers normal. That’s the inherent bias.

The second reason it’s so funny is because of the tendency of centralist or centre left people to accuse leftists of saying the Dems and Republicans are the same thing when they are criticising the Dems. That’s terrible but saying more left wing and right wing ideology is the same is enlightened?

Just in case you misread it, I said far-left (not the rational left) and far-right (not the rational right) are too similar.

Nope, that’s what the far left think about non-far left people, not what they truly are. In fact, that meme is expressing hate against any non-far left person. You are projecting your own hate in the far right, since far left also wants to “exterminate” the “impures”: I’ve seen far left people in Lemmy celebrating Charlie kirk’s death because, according with them, he was “homophobic” (a.k.a: “impure”). Same with that cartoonist death (I don’t remember his name, he used to draw a popular comic strip about an office guy with glasses), I’ve seen people celebrating his death for similar reasons: his “impuritiy” . How is that different from the far right?

Man, I thought it was simply because it was about your creative work but apparently you’re incapable of taking any kind of criticism in general.

That’s the point. Far-lefties think that anything not aligned to their insane way to perceive the world is “right” or “far right”.

I mean, how hard is it to figure out that Trump is putting immigrants in cages and separating them from their kids and families. The fact that Kamala Harris it’s not planning to do that should be reason enough to give her the benefit of the doubt if you’re not a fascist cunt.

That election was two years ago.

I don’t agree with everything, not even most things, said by the kinds of “social justice” types of people you are trying to parody in this.

But in the world we currently live in, there are way worse problems to focus on than that. In a world where governments around the world are openly trying to exclude young people from communicating freely on the Internet, and in many others increasing their control over it too, talking about people yelling at other people for not being “woke” enough sounds like a complete distraction.

Also I see that this community has a “no politics” rule, so I’m going to report this for violating that.

And then everybody clapped because the child was Einstein?

The thing about elections in USA is: you only have limited options, so it really wouldn’t take long to research those options (and in the case of DJT just remembering his first term would suffice) but if you can’t even do that, just invalidate your vote then and do better next time.

Nope, you don’t have limited options, unless the only tool you are willing to use to fix the US is vote. But American Revolution wasn’t voted, and many important changes in the history wasn’t voted either. You have endless options.

Except no? Revolution isn’t the option of an election between few or two choices. You’ve lost your own plot. Kudos.

I think you are the one who “lost the plot”, since you’ve changed the subject and your answer doesn’t have anything to do with anything we’ve been talking in this thread or my meme. Besides, discussions are not for winning or losing, that’s for low IQ people like yourself. Discussions are meant either to reach the truth or for having a good time with a healthy ideas exchange.

Sudden abscorbic rejection is the tolerant reaction to facist sea-lioning.

There are a handful of other issues where a similarly strong rejection is appropriate, such as “surely a little rape is OK” or “why can’t a grandfather fuck a 12 year old”.

It may seem extreme to respond with such vitriol just to a political choice, until you remember that the politocian in question is a rapist and a pedophile.

Trolling or harassing in the “I’m just trying to have a debate”-kind of way, making the most absurd, engaging and usually false arguments while maintaining a civil appearance.
The best metaphor I came across would be a DDoS-attack on a human’s topic focus.

Example: when a comment section discusses what could be done so the Mediterranean became less deadly to refugees, a sea lion could stir shit by asking whether it was “really necessary to not have so many people drowning because refugees are raping, stealing and just straining european social security systems anyway? Just asking questions though.”

Or a sea lion could force you into a debate you never wanted. You make a simple statement most people already agree on that doesn’t need much explanation, like “Yeah, fascism is bad, we shouldn’t vote for fascist candidates and parties”, then a sea lion would start to ask you why fascism is bad, what’s so fascist about candidate A, etc, even under other comments you posted stating they were just trying to have a debate, implying you’re dodging them because you had no argument and made everything up.
