Many people could make better arguments o this than I, I am not a tech guy. But basically people that know this subject in detail say that it’s not thinking, it’s not reasoning, it’s choosing the most popular response from the bank of responses it holds, and as such, will never be able to get rid of hallucinations as such.
Nevertheless I am calling it LLMs and you all should too. Because whatever computer programmers call it, the public envisions something different that llm’s are not when they hear AI.
Ha ha, no not educate per se, craft insults and disarrangements that catch on, craft language that affects the culture. Trying to educate is a fool’s errand outside of enlightened company and even then it’s questionable.

It’s historical. Pathfinders are AI for example. It’s just an acronym for computer doing “brain work”.
I mean if you’re curious about why we call it that.
