Having actually read the article, I think that doctor himself should be fired and his license to practice revoked. It’s just sounding like another case of the wrong people being entrusted with this kind of technology, so now it’s creating an issue. The trust with doctors is more or less corroded as is the trust in the health care system is, so I’m not surprised to learn that some doctor operating on a side-agenda we’ve yet to know about in his life is the reason here.

Simple - the companies distributing them.

I think this is them saying “yeah, we’re good now, we got all we want for the time being. you can opt. thank you!”

I get that part and everyone did speculate that months and weeks before we got the price reveal. It’s just, why would someone ignore the market of PC components then expect Valve to be the difference maker? But, that didn’t matter because “valve made it, so I buy, just like I do when I buy games I won’t play from their holiday sales :B”

People were highly anticipating a machine from Valve that was affordable, flexible, versatile and able to give mid-range to higher-mid-range PCs a run for their money that you had to build.

I remember arguing with someone on a discord channel about its pricing. He was adamant that the price was going to be around $500 ~ $600 to keep the competition. I kept arguing back that with the prices about where hardware has gone for PCs that it will be more pricier. He was $400 off and there are people like him out there, who’re that gullible to believe Valve is on their side.

Gamers in general are known to be gullible. Buying a Steam Machine at $1,000 because it was made by Valve, proves this. I would argue that Valve should’ve just have upgraded the Steam Deck and I find that a far more worthwhile device.

I’m not giving the answer but I’m surprised honestly that I was actually wrong here.

It’s a damn shame that GOG didn’t go out of their way to pick up both of these games. They were some of the first of their kind.

Robot Arena 2

Because I don’t think it’s either Battle Bots or Robot Wars. It’s just that scythe looking hook thing looks familiar from somewhere in a game like this.

Man, they made this sound as generically as ‘fuck you, shit happens, oh well’ as they come.

And the only time they really get around to re-releasing it again, is if they think they can pull mass profits off of it. I call it nostalgia marketing.

Especially if it’s both Bethesda and Microsoft we’re talking here.

They’re the same people who probably buy into the whole “but age is just a number” rhetoric, while also asking online, hundreds of age-gap related questions and seeking validity from it.

It is this kind of behavior, that I see in generally almost all walks of life, that pushes me more and more to just mind my own business and associate with those who know better. Simply because, I can’t rally my inner activist if the large majority of the people, the same ones crying for change but yet won’t do it, to exhaust myself in trying to be that change for them. All that I’d be doing, is wasting my time and energy.

So go on, keep buying your $1,000 steam machines, your $100 GTA VIs, you won’t learn any better. Anything for clout and FOMO.

And most of the bitching will be about bugs and performance issues. But never about how much the game costs by default unless it’s a “BUT I BOUGHT THIS GAME FOR $100 AND I EXPECTED PERFECTION!! >:(”

And then we’ll have the angry refund phase that’ll last about two weeks and fade into nothingness. Not, again, about how the game was priced. It’ll be about the performance and the bugs. Rinse and repeat.
