Mines running strong even through hardware changes for 6 years now
I normally don’t like characters like this, but man, he is pretty good in community. Also the fact that hes a real doctor is pretty awesome.
Check out Uzumaki https://m.imdb.com/title/tt10905902/
Ahh, makes sense. Multizone is something I’ll probably end up doing in my house soon, thankfully all my ductwork is exposed in the basement which makes it easy. Thanks appreciate it, I’m going to try to get a prototype board spun in the next week or two, test it out for a bit, and then see if other people are interested in them too. Appreciate the info, I should consider being able to control dampers also.
Cool, I’ve come across this before. I have been looking for a more open thermostat, preferably esp32 based, that I can have good local control over. I have started to do the board layout for one with some air quality sensors built in.
If you don’t mind me asking whats more complicated about your hvac setup? Multistage? Heat pump? Multizone?
They do work pretty well, I’m phasing out the Google homes in my house trying to go completely local, and the voice PEs are pretty good for voice control.
Which one would you recommend?
Same, started following him about 6 months to a year ago and quickly became a fan
I am pretty sure it is, it seems ironic to me
If he helps bump the gaming industry in a better/healthier direction, he deserves 6 figures imo
I normally am against outrageous branding, especially in the overly masculine or nationalistic area, but I think they are pretty solid. Good product, they lean right into the ridiculousness just enough for it to be a little comical, seem to have good messaging, and it’s just good. Expensive for what it is though.
USB-C. We are clearly progressing. I never want to go back to the world where every phone had a proprietary power brick and connector.
If you want to learn a bit about machining while also dealing with maximum dad humor: This Old Tony
Ya, this is the way. I use all the time
And cyberpunk
I think looking through the comments on this post about AI stuff is a pretty good representation of my experience on lemmy. Definitely some opinions, but most people are pretty reasonable 🙂
Ya exactly! Or just sanity checking if you understand how something works, I use it a lot for that, or trying to fill in knowledge gaps.
Also qwen3 is out, check that out, it might fit on a 1060.
I see a mix, don’t get me wrong, Lemmy is definitely opinionated lol, but I don’t think it’s quite black and white.
Also, generally, I’m not going to not share my thoughts or opinions because I’m afraid of people that don’t understand nuance, sometimes I don’t feel like dealing with it, but I’m going to share my opinion most of the time.
OP asked what you self host that isn’t media, self hosted LLMs is something I find very useful and I didn’t see mentioned. Home assistant, pihole, etc, all great answers… But those were already mentioned.
I still have positive upvotes on that comment, and no one has flamed me yet, but we will see.
That’s pretty extreme. Also you can buy a taser without training in the US, so your point doesn’t even stand.
