    Is this meme assuming that everyone who disagrees with you politically is poorer than you, and making fun of them for earning less? I feel like this is rooted in a misconception of “people get paid according to their intelligence” - and the reverse: “STUPID people who i disagree with deserve to have their labour exploited.”

    But I could be wrong…?

      I think it’s about bootlickers who mistakenly associate themselves with the ultra rich who start crying when anyone suggests increasing taxes on the actually rich people.

        Yeah I’ll write it off as an overanalysis and over-reaction on my part. I’m too sensitive to low earnings being presented in a negative light

            Perhaps even more relevant is that when when people are desperate/afraid/confused they look to strength and power to solve their problems. I can’t remember the name of it but it’s a documented psychosocial phenomenon. It is essentially being a sycophant or bootlicker but the academics have a more neutral term for it.
