    Let’s say you’re right, and that this is about “knowing the difference between a nut and a peanut”. Is it more important for you to use language strictly correctly, or to accommodate people who are using language wrong, when it comes to matters of life and death?

    Or do you genuinely believe that your personal experience means that nobody, ever is going to tell you they have a nut allergy and mean peanuts, and that those 5 sources - including a dictionary and three different health authorities - are wrong to imply that, at least in some contexts, “nut” includes “peanuts”?

    Please, tell me if there’s a third option I haven’t thought of.
