I’m ootl, what happened? Wasn’t buzz always Tim Allen?
After seeing this meme, it did kind of remind me of this guy playing Buzz at some point but couldn’t remember when.
Seems like he played him in video games, TV shows, and all the stuff Tim Allen didn’t want to do
It’s so weird it’s not streaming anywhere. My TV caps from 25 years ago for my nephew turned out to be not a waste of time.
It’s in a vault along with Song of the South, King of the Elves and other titles Disney is ashamed of.
Its even hard to find on the high seas
What are we looking for again?
I believe everyone is talking about “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command”, an animated tv show about the exploits of Buzz Lightyear.
If you watch the show, it more closely aligns with Buzz’s background details from the Toy Story movies compared to the 2022 Lightyear movie. Its believed that Pixar didn’t like the animated show because they didn’t make it, so Lightyear rewriting who “Buzz Lightyear” really was makes more sense from that context.
I personally feel the the show was better for leaning into the kinda campiness it had and feel like Lightyear would have benefitted from drawing on that show. I don’t think anyone wanted a more gritty version of Buzz and it makes the Lightyear movie seem disconnected from the Toy Story universe.
Edit: Also people use the fact that it’s not on Disney+ as evidence that someone at Disney has it out for that show.
