Lots of people saw this coming. Meanwhile, Bernie shredded his career by saying that people using the word “genocide” about what Israel was doing “made him queasy”, and that “we have to be careful about the use of that word.”

I dont want to hear what Bernie has to say anymore. He’s 84 years old. Its past time he and the rest of his generation retire and leave the government to much younger people.

I’m kind of with you. Bernie made every extreme idea he had unpalatable and became a steam valve for people who believed him. He wasn’t able to get anything done. He was weaponized incompetence wielded by the right to say well crazy Bernie thinks x y and z so let’s definitely not do any of that. Even though by the end of his career x y and z were like barely center left. I’ve still got a Bernie sticker on my car, but it’s faded af

Nonsense comment. “Bernie Shredded his career”. is laughable. He may be more popular now than he ever was. Bernie led the charge in the Senate to end military spending in Israel and has spoken against the genocide on multiple occasions and he is leaving the government to younger people like AoC, Graham Platner, Zohran Mamdani, Melat Kiros, Darializa Avila Chevalier, Oliver Larkin and many others.

“I don’t want to hear anything he has to say anymore”

      Peak Lemmy mentality.

I’m not loyal to politicians, I am loyal to ideas. You should try it sometime. Being loyal to politicians is crazy.

A bit naive to expect any politician to match one’s own ideology 100% of the time.

When they do, they tend to be populists like Trump: spineless who would promise whatever their followers demand from them. I would be wary of any politician who had never made a blunder.

Anyway, since you wouldn’t compromise, I guess you don’t vote?

You realize that’s something completely different, though, right? Those are two completely disjoint thoughts.

Not supporting genocide is just a negotiable for you huh. Peak centrism right there. You’ll end up with the world you demand, and the outcomes you allow for others.

When bad outcomes happen to you remember this lack of any basic standard at all.
