I get Domino’s from time to time. It’s the closest ‘fast food pizza’ to me (about 50m walk) and I don’t find it any better or worse than the other chain pizzas.
50m in another direction from me is wood fired Neapolitan pizza place that also makes decent pizza but it’s a different thing entirely for me. Sometimes I want one, sometimes the other.
It’s very location-based for me. The dominos in my hometown is still good last time I checked. But the one near by me doesn’t give a shit about anything, and I can tell. Ordering from them is the on\y time I’ve ever opened up a freshly cooked pizza (still hot) and smelled rancid, rotting chicken. Absolutely fucking disgusting. So that location is burnt to me, until I see a sign about “new ownership/management”, but there are others I enjoy. It’s technically a franchise, but most locations are not owned by individuals but by a regional corporation, afaik.
edit
And yes, it’s cheap-o greasy pizza, one ladder rung above lil ceasars (which is one rung above cardboard). But when I’m high as shit at midnight on a friday, it hits just right.
I think it comes from their quality in the early 2000s. It was quite bad, but sometime in the 10s that changed their recipe. They’re now my favorite of the chain pizza restaurants.
Or maybe the European dominoes still sucks. I’ve only had the US
They’ve definitely tweaked the recipe over the years. They used to be soo bad. Now they’re alright, but they aren’t a good deal unless you use their app, so most of the time I just don’t bother.
You’re right. They couldn’t pay me to eat one.
I’m always curious about the dominos hate.

Their pizza is as “good” as a frozen grocery store pizza but often twice the price or more. You are always better off finding a local mom-and-pop.

At least here the website has a coupon section. Usually there’s a large 1 topping pick-up of $6.99 or $7.99
No need to download the app, but they do hide it a bit like all pizza places do
I think it’s a regional thing, the ones near me are perfectly fine if a touch greasy
