You might think he’s “cool” because of his disaffected attitude towards the school’s authority figures, but he’s likewise disaffected about friends and family. He’s a lonely, nihilistic, troubled kid acting out and headed down a bad path. That’s hardly “cool” and has a lot of similarities to Twitter/X’s perceived user based these days.
