In the book Catch Me if You Can (which was presented as truth but has since been challenged; I’m not sure where the alleged truthiness stands now) the author, who in the story is a scam artist who regularly claims different names, says that he always kept at least one initial to maintain a connection to his real self.
I’ve read several stories of shapeshifters (these I suspect to have less truthiness) in which the character always maintains some aspect of themselves (usually eye color, I think) for similar reasons. I recently watched a YouTube video about Impossible Man which says that he (almost) always maintains his color scheme, but voluntarily.
So I wonder whether violet will always have “violet” in her name. A while ago she made a post saying that she originally chose it because it was, IIRC, her favorite flower.
