People aren’t targeting the walled garden, they’re targeting one facet of a person’s life, in this case addiction. People love to use a low point in someone’s life as a permanent reference point regardless of whatever they do with their life after that era has passed. They’re not using his addiction as a means of attacking privilege or politics, they’re reinforcing social standards that addicts are a lesser class incapable of ever being anything other than an addict. A nuanced criticism of Hunter and the difference between consequences for wealthy addicts and poor addicts is one thing, low hanging fruit of “you were once an addict so you’re automatically a piece of shit” only keeps addiction a baseline for dismissing another person.

My point was more centered on walled garden censorship, not the context of the post. I don’t have anything against Hunter Biden, well — no more than I would anyone with as much money as his family has.

Edit: which really isn’t much, relative to the Trump crime family that is.
