The law wouldn’t apply to free games or games that are only accessible via a subscription.
Boy this feels rife with potential loopholes…
Yes but something is better than the nothing that we have now.
Or worse, it incentivizes all games to be subscription-only.
If there’s this baked in idea that when they make an online only game it’s eventually going to have to have server software open sourced or disable online checks, they’ll soon adapt.
They pass some batshit legislation, but good on the land of fruits and nuts for going to bat for not killing games.
