There are dedicated communities for that type of content. What is not there is a sizeable (or any at all) meme community without it.

I totally see this side, however the last time this came up we did a big community discussion about it in which people discussed their different definitions of a “meme” (many argued it includes shared humorous screenshots, and many argued that memes are limited to image macros), but the majority thought that this kind of stuff was fair game and/or didn’t want the added restriction.

I remember that discussion, I kicked it off. However, a. memes like this here still get more up- than downvotes and b. I still don’t like those posts so I will post memes like this when I feel sm-screenshot posts are rising in numbers too much and c. there is still no community to go to for people who don’t want such posts in their meme community.

That’s all totally fine, of course. And voting on the content you want to see is why we have the voting system. If community opinion changes, we can always change stuff.
