I was talking to a friend today about an article I read trying to suggest that his “civilization destruction” tweet could’ve been an example of the old Russian “escalate to de-escalate” doctrine that’s never been proven to exist. While the article made some interesting points, including that Trump received Iran’s 10 points that were used for the ceasefire before sending that tweet (I have no idea if this is true), I laughed when telling my friend, “Trump doesn’t even play checkers, let alone this kind of entry-level chess!”
