I didn’t just mean political assasination, I also meant self defense. No matter how peaceful you act, some right-winger will find some reason to attack you if you’re a minority.
And if one’s country’s gun laws are not as liberal as the United States’, they should at least carry a bottle of pepper spray, a taser, and a self-defense knife. If those are illegal as well, they should make them themselves. And they should use them goddamnit.
I agree that everyone should be capable and willing (and allowed) to defend themselves. As someone who was bullied my whole life, and often got in more trouble for defending myself than I ever saw my bullies get in, that’s a particular pain point for me.
But let’s not delude ourselves. Even if it’s in self-defense, the media would paint it as “radical left psycho-terrorist acting violent,” so it should only be considered as a last resort, back-against-the-wall, do-or-die sort of action.
