e: what am I missing? I think of the big conglomerates when I hear those words, and those conglomerates don’t have the same interests in mind as artists and people with ethics, right? Or am I missing something?
Honestly it depends on what is considered part of the film industry. I would consider the actors, writers, etc etc, part of the industry even if they arent the major companies behind everything. They definitely hate AI and the guilds and unions have been very open about it.
That said… they could also be considered “artists” so eh
The film industry includes actors, writers, directors, camera operators, production assistants, costumers, protheticists, prop organisers, extras, set designers, weapons masters, stunt performers, choreographers, composers, musicians…
Does ‘film industry’ belong in this meme?

Disney had a billion dollar contract with Sora, so yeah it doesn’t really work here. Film writers would be more fitting.

I guess to me, ‘industry’ are the producers and studios. I can see how we have different meanings for that word.
