In a feature the dating app says is set to roll out in the U.S. later this spring, Tinder plans to access users' camera rolls to pick photos and determine what they're into.

    First Amazon now Tinder… Who gave them the idea the term “camera roll” is a thing? Nobody “shops their camera roll” or allows “scanning their camera roll”. Where the fuck did this shit come from?

      Other commenters have pointed out the terms actual origins, but on modern devices it got started as a term that was used way back on the original iPhones/devices

      You just outed yourself as young. It’s a holdover from physical film cameras, when film came in a roll. I’m digital, it’s just your “photos taken on this device” folder
