But yeah segregation was 50 years. People are alive today that weren’t allowed to use the same toilets as whites or share drinking fountains. Restaurants wouldn’t serve them. Sundown towns. Lynchings. The latter is still occurring.
Black slavery really wasn’t that long ago either.
