They’re just statues, I don’t think they’re benches meant to be sat on at all. They’re meant to make Ronald look welcoming. Notice how they’re never in a good spot to sit in either, like this one, which is smack dab between some walls.
Yeah, the bench wouldn’t exist at all if not for the statue. If anything, it’s a photo op
This isn’t anti-homeless architecture, it’s pro-corporation advertising. Feels like whoever made this picture decided on the conclusion before thinking about it for 30 seconds lol
so first, McD’s is a franchise business. local ownership of the business, national ownership of the brand. legitimately, if you need to sit down they’ll let you sit down inside if they’re open. if they were going to chase you off outside, they’ll chase you off inside and vice versa.
I know the owner of all the franchises in the county (i’ve played a few gigs at his mansion. he offered me a managerial position when he saw that i was both front man and roadie for the band (while the rest of the band fucked around, ate his food at the party and explored his property) and i stupidly turned him down because “i was going to college” i was such a dipshit) and that relationship turned into reliable funding for our homeless shelters in the county and free coffee and a hot meal that they can eat indoors for any homeless person who shows up to a McD’s in the area, so like remember people are human all the way up and down the corporate chain.
money doesn’t make you sociopathic, it’s just that sociopathic folk are generally the folk who trade a lot of their lives and their selves to get a lot of money and that’s why it concentrates there.

They are also meant to be a photo opportunity for children.

Yeah haha McDonalds isn’t building benches for the public lol. They’re building private benches to make a sale.
