minus-square☂️-@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up3·edit-22 days agothe new-er ones are coasting on their solid engineering solutions from the older ones (offset by the typical cost cutting) and brand recognition. the modern ones are probably close to as bad as anything else today, but time is still yet to punish those so we can get the real feel for it. that said some of the chinese evs coming here look solid. time will tell.

Tbh there aren’t many modern cars that look like they will last 35 years, and unfortunately that includes the Japanese.
