The American war for Independence is a pretty sad example of revolution.

Think of the average American, how much did their material conditions change? Now compare to the French Revolution, Haitian Revolution, and Bolshevik revolution.

America by comparison, was just an “under new management”.

You are looking at it the wrong way. They didn’t have to pay for the war they started and they could expand westward.

Well the American revelolution was driven more by the rich or at least the mercantile class than the average person.

Wealthy men smelled the tide turning and funded the army in exchange for the accolades of leading during the time of revolution. They hijacked the movement to make a country where they ruled. It’s why they had such disdain for the rabble.
