This is why I don’t go to the gym in January
I went to the pool in the first week and wanted to cry, felt like we were damn near nose to toes.

My first job was front desk at a gym, and this is accurate
its probably thier new years revolutions, then they get lazy and dont come back, if they are not alreayd gymbros.
I remember reading a great thing on the economics of gyms… Iirc, they basically depend on those NY resolution folks to pay and not show up.

I was anticipating my gym to be this way and it was dead quiet the first week of January. I was not mad. It’s actually busier now than it was in January. 🤷

At my gym there wasn’t too many people in January, probably because its not THE cool gym… No the wave came the last week.
I usually go in the morning because it is incredibly packed in the afternoon / evening.
I haven’t gone to the gym in febraury yet only because i have to walk to the gym and they don’t plow the sidewalks so would have to walk half a mile in a busy road past two liquor stores which i won’t do if i really dont have to.
I am sticking to my home gym thanks
My go-to BBQ joint is right next to a Planet Fitness. Upon returning after Christmas, and fighting for my life through the busiest parking lot of all time, I found a note on the door basically saying “We’re closing for all of January”.
