i loved when APB reloaded had halloween events, there were 150 purple and 150 orange pumpkins hidden around both cities. you could find them by running around and listening carefully for their evil laugh and when you shoot one, it reveals which area or street the closest next one is on. it was the only good thing in the whole game. idk if it’s even alive anymore, but it was buggy, laggy and looked like absolute shit, draw distance was 100m, players were toxic af and most players cheated. they were promising a game engine update since at least 2012 but it never happened.
There are massive Joro spiders popping up everywhere and they feel like nature’s Halloween decor.
Every other coffee shop: Pumpkin spice latte
Dead by Daylight is funniest. It’s already a game about terrifying horror, but then for Halloween they add a lot of silly spooky pumpkin-related event deco and mechanics.
I haven’t played many online games, mainly World of Tanks, but Halloween and Christmas were the best times in that game. It may be stupid, but nothing made me feel Christmas as much, as firing up that game at the beginning of December, seeing a large Christmas tree in the main menu and hearing the sounds of a Christmas fare.
I love seasonal events in games, I hope the trend continues.
It’s the best surprise in offline (esp older) games that don’t even get updates anymore still have pre-programmed seasonal events because they read your system clock.
It never gets old. Bring on the spooks.
Time for the year’s best seasonal events let’s goooooo
Skins with pumpkins as heads are almost always pay to lose because of how easy it is to focus on their head
That’s the fun part. I remember the first time I saw pumpkin heads in d2. I was deleting pumpkin heads left and right and I’d turn a corner and end up back at spawn. Fun times
Damn you merasmus!
I remember farming Halloween masks in TF2. My inventory’s still full of them, and I can hear the spooky noise the server played when they dropped.
I don’t care for Halloween though. In contrast, even though I hate LoL, I love Christmas, and I remember the Christmas music and the silly Christmas modes very fondly.
And sometime every town is darker than the field outside somehow.
