      If you zoom in, it looks like that thing is actually a messed up comma that barely has a tail. It’s like the spork of punctuation!

        Yep, I noticed that, but I’ve also noticed a lot of people doing this in writing. It’s weird.

      A lot of people put a period instead of a comma in the middle of an “if, then” statement. I don’t know why.

        Yeah, that’s what I’m referring to as well. If one sentence doesn’t make sense on its own, then it shouldn’t have a period at the end. Maybe complex sentences are too difficult for some people…
