Well yeah that’s what always boggled my mind - oil drilling rights, abortion, taxes, these things don’t have anything to do with each other, but if someone has an opinion on one of them, you can pretty well guess their opinion on the rest.
I dunno though, Europe seems to be doing pretty well with regulations that go after big corporations and benefit everyday people. I think it’s just in America where “the left” is finished. If anything it’s such a disaster that it’s like a warning to the rest of the world. Trump’s election flipped the polls in Canada from right to… well not left, but not right either.
Good point about Canada. They flipped. Meaning the conservatives were in the lead by a lot. The only thing that stopped them was Trump fucking up. This is the same almost everywhere. The Lefts victory’s have not been because of their policy or engagement with the people. The left has been winning only when the right fuck up. Any other time the right has captured dominant positions in many key areas. Vice versa, the left are hobbling themselves at every turn while slowly dismantling themselves. I have no doubt Lemmy is targeted and manipulated by groups looking to convince the left to eat itself.

You don’t hear too much about those these days. Maybe because the media doesn’t talk about those lefties. Maybe it’s in the media’s interest to only show you what they want you to see.
