While eating ze bugs is surely a way to reduce climate change, it’s still just passing on the responsibility to the individual while billionaires go to the grocery store with private jets bought from oil and war money.

I take this to be a stab against people who pass on beef and pork due to their impact on the climate and eat insects for protein instead.

      But I’m not sure.

OP doesn’t believe in anthropogenic climate change and avoided getting covid vaccinations. It’s definitely about that and/or the conspiracy that we’re all going to be made to switch to an insect-based diet

Except that insect based protein isn’t even something you can find out there to eat. Unless you get it directly from the source… but those people don’t exist either.

This entire thing was made from a few researchers doing some basic research and a few cultures here or there that have one or two traditional dishes that use insects.

…and that’s not even a bad thing, not necessary to get sufficient protein though either. I’ll never get why people are so angry about all this. Literally everyone on this planet already ate bugs, some just happen to be from the sea. Hell, we eat god damn fish eggs that come straight from fish uterus. It’s just unusual for most people to eat certain things, and even that is entirely depending on your culture.

Some people just can’t cope with the fact that meat production is so phenomenally bad in every aspect that abandoning it would either solve or extremely improve

        • Climate crisis
        • Health crisis (antibiotic-resistence)
        • Lack of farmland
        • Lack of space for construction

and probably even more. But nooo, people are like “uuh, I need my meat, meat is so tasty, my 20th century science says I can’t live without meeeeeaaaat, mimimi woke vegans want to take my borgaar :<”. Solving problems that threaten our civilization? Naaah, me want nomnom tasty meat. Can’t be bothered to make a few harmless changes.

        Pisses me the hell off.

People are emotional creatures. Some people are almost exclusively driven by emotions. Amusingly, it’s usually the right wing saying “facts don’t care about your feelings”, because everything from them is projection

It’s a dig at people who think we can solve climate change with individual-level half-measures like using bugs as our protein source instead of just eating vegetables like people who aren’t completely fucking nuts.
