Of course it is, even when the Democratic party has control of the Executive and House they talk about why they can’t do anything, then the Republicans take control and ram through a bunch of shit and the Democratic party points and clucks their tongues at them. It’s been that way since roughly Reagan.
To be fair, the American senate and house were not built to operate under blind fealty to a single party over country. Moving legislation quickly would require a strong majority. Without that it is a slow crawl or entirely unmoving. Holding up progress barely requires anything more than a single person, too. Which sucks entirely for general society which naturally sees progress.
i’m not familiar with the UK specifically but the “toothless liberal frauds” vs “evil pedophile fascists” electoral dichotomy is everywhere now.
