I just received a call from an indian microsoft technician. He informed me that my PC is sending a ton of error messages to microsoft. Most likely it has been hacked, and he would help me by remoting in and fixing the problem for me. I just wonder… Is it my PopOs or my Manjaro PC that sends all this info to microsoft?

I just recieved an email about how all my computers were hacked/ infected with RATS by clicking on sketchy links and that they had vids of me jerking it to my particularly socially unacceptable kink and that I needed to send 1000$ in btc and they would ‘delete the information pinky promise’ or release the vids

Had to laugh, Im the worst possible target for this kind of phising and ransomware in general for several reasons

    1. I know enough about computers to know a real ransomeware would lock me out of the computer full stop and probably have some real identifyable info to prove they got me
    2. Every computer I have is linux OS, not saying its hack proof but most hackers wouldn’t bother knowing linux people take their security seriously enough for it to not be worth the hassle.
    3. My only webcam has electrical tape over it at all times
    4. I don’t click on sketchy links, and if I do UBO tells me to gtfo.
    5. I have no friends and can count my family with half of one hand, nor do I have any social media. I really couldn’t care less if my elderly parents I take care of or distant relatives I haven’t had a conversation with ever know what I jerk off to. Threats to my social life don’t work if I don’t have one lol
    6. Im 'murican and would rather bin every device on my network and accept the data lost than negotiate with terrorist
