Hot take: I’d much rather have Dwight as a friend than Jim. He’s eccentric and he’s the butt of the jokes, but he’s shown to be an incredibly reliable friend. He’s always there to help any time someone asks, he’s knowledgeable about a lot of practical matters and is happy to share that knowledge, he’s enthusiastic about his interests, and he’s loyal to his friends. Jim might have some of those traits, too, but we don’t really see it - his primary personality trait is just being a charismatic jokester.
