I watched him live on Tom Green’s live stream from his living room during this era, right as he was hitting rock bottom.

He got out. And so can anyone else reading this.

He got clean right? And now talks about how addiction fucked him up. Have a lot of respect for that as someone who is sober now too. Shit’s hard sometimes.

He went clean AND vegan and his doctor told him he had the cleanest bloodwork he’d ever seen. Which is to say equally clean as everybody else whose bloodwork came up clean.

Yeah, this photo was actually one of the things that he credits with helping him get clean. Because this was basically rock bottom for him, and seeing this photo in tabloids was a large part of what made him realize how bad his addiction truly was.

He did the same thing that a lot of addicts do, and basically did a full 180 into health and fitness instead. Basically replaced the drug high with a workout high.

It’s kinda funny with the cigarette just dangling there too. Like no matter how fucked up he is, he can still hold on to that stogie.

One thing I noticed as I got older and got to know people a bit better… Smokers and vapers almost always use drugs or have been addicted to drugs. It’s like the clearest sign that someone is willing to do something to feel altered and sacrifice personal health for it, and continue to make that sacrifice daily.

People that are willing to make that specific nicotine trade almost always do it with various other addictive substances. It’s kind of fascinating, that something so visible becomes such an obvious tell of other behavior people are terrified to exhibit.
