Popular support is needed for a revolution to happen. But striking even on a smaller scale is steel still a very effective way at gaining larger action from the population.

Striking is the bread and butter of revolutionary activity. The February revolution in Russia was a mass strike that escalated to a point the state could no longer control it. What do you think revolutionary activity looks like?
You are right, people are striking less now than they used to which is a major reason why things are getting worse: cost of living increasing, wages stagnating, the rich getting richer etc.
We need to unite as workers and strike, not vote, for the conditions we deserve.

How are all those things you just described not how neurons turn inputs into outputs? Of course a brain is greater than the sum of its parts, so it an LLM. LLM’s aren’t black i/o boxes either you can read the values of each individual neuron and it’s connections. I still don’t understand how brains can be more than just a collection of statistical predictions. It’s not magic, they still function according to the mathematical world we live in.

I like the idea. My only gripe is it’s complexity for the average user. If there was a way to make it super simple. Torrent clients and trackers are way to complecated the average user.
Our brains are made of neurons which on a fundumental level is just a prediction machine that turns an input into an output. All those things you stated, self awareness, thoughts, reflection, are a result of emergence from having many many neurons. LLM neural networks are just much more simple than human brains and also don’t evolve over time (outside of training).
I think we should be looking for decentralised alternatives not something prone to enshittification.

Distillation is very different from pushing the boundaries of AI research and developing a model that is better than anything before it. Even the article above said that modern models can distil other models to a benchmark.
Also I can wait for Nvidia’s stock price to completely die as soon as this becomes mainstream.

Oh didn’t see that. This is really cool! I suppose it does work similarly to hardware codecs, with the same very big trade-off being you get locked into a specific model. But considering this is an emerging technology maybe they could be made small enough to have multiple models on a single chip! (similar to codecs) Or just have one really big model that would be more future proof, and the price-performance would be so much greater than running the model on a GPU.
A specialised chip wouldn’t be nessesary though. GPU’s can run smaller models just fine the main issue is enough memory to store larger ones without resorting to CPU memory. Power consumption probably is the main gain to be had with NPU’s. You’ll still be limited by slow cpu memory once you run out of faster memory.
I mean you have showed the floor in your own argument. It’s an assumption, if you don’t have any real evidence then your number is almost worthless.
