You can reinstall a driver without ever touching the command line on windows.
Can you do that with Linux? Idk maybe on some distros but the default would just be to uninstall the package from terminal.
Pretending these are equivalent is not cool and it just drives new users away for not understanding things the community takes for granted. It takes effort to learn the terminal if even tech-savvy windows users may not even use the command line
Personally I believe that unless you’re able to do a slackware or gentoo installation, you’re not ready for Linux.
/s but only kinda
Linux users need to have a higher level of technical literacy than windows users. It just can’t be avoided unless you’re okay with potentially reinstalling your os at some point. The bar has been lowered a lot, but because other companies refuse to play nice with Linux, it’ll always be there.
If you’re okay with that tradeoff, then yeah Linux is great. But a lot of people aren’t even aware of it and it causes a lot of pain
Just wondering, what qualifies as cheap for you?
I just started reading the dune series, after watching the movies, and I’m having a great time with it! Somehow the books do a better job of detailing the conversations between all the different characters, and setting the stage for movie 2.
I’ve been wanting to try warthunder but I’ve been turned off the the micro-transaction model. Would you still recommend?
I’ve played other milsims like arma, was wanting something with better air vehicle usage
Whic TCG? I sold some old pokemon cards at a shop, was surprised to learn that anime cards were very popular now
That game made my head hurt but I so wish I could play it again for the first time. It was so fun
I’ve been playing a LOT of arma 3 rpg’s. So fun trying to smuggle drugs across the map before the police figure out what’s going on.
Next year I’ll probably move over to a larger playbase game with similar gameplay loop, maybe EVE online
God I wish
Computers are very dumb things that will do exactly what you tell them to. You accidently forgot that you told them to infinitely add +1 to a finite number? Boy it sure will
Here I thought this was a programming joke about programmers blaming the code/hardware for throwing random bugs that differ somehow from the very direct instructions they compiled.
Mm idk, I think knowing how to use folders is pretty important. It helps people stay organized.
The article wasn’t talking about file systems like FAT32 or NTFS. It was talking about using directories, instead of “pulling files from a laundry basket” by using a search bar.
Yep thanks
That’s what I ended up doing. It was a weird conversation though, telling him that if it seemed like some website wasn’t working, try it on chrome and it just might work
Can I just add a different perspective on this?
My dad is really old (like early baby-boomers), and I am basically the in-family tech support when the home computer starts acting strange.
Well, right after google rolled out this update, my dad clicked on what he thought was an online shopping link. It was actually an ad for a toolbar add-on. Queue Cue like 6+ hours trying to uninstall that add-on and the bundled software.
I never had to worry about that in the past with him because I had u-block origin installed. Now I need to find something else that can run quietly in the background. And probably a better antivirus.
I agree with everything you said, but I gotta ask: What is a zeeb?
Definitely this one. Simple design and the fine point is so smooth to write with
