Like all new technologies, there is a time when bunches of companies jump on the band wagon to get in on the action. You can see it all throughout the history of the industrial revolution.

They mostly know that there will come a great weeding out of those that can’t handle the technology or just fail from poor management. But they are betting they will be among the 1% that wins the race and remain to dominate the market.

The rest will just bide their time until the next Big Thing comes along. And the process starts over again.

When I spent a few years teaching in the local school, one thing I taught was a class on Design and 3D printing. The VERY first thing I always had to teach was “how to use a mouse” before I could even begin to start teaching CAD modeling.

I swear, smart phones and touch screens are a curse and pox on humanity.

Corporations do this regularly. Using funds from one branch of their business to prop up others. That’s neither new or illegal in the EU.

Honestly, perhaps more people ask about how to clean and prep a squab vs rescuing a dirty pigeon. There are a LOT of hungry people and a LOT of pigeons.

Bought in a grocery store - see squab - they are usually clean and prepped for cooking. So while the de-boning instructions were not good, the AI wasn’t technically wrong.

But while a human can make the same mistake and many here just assume the question was about how to wash a rescued pigeon - maybe that’s not the original intent - what human can do that AI cannot is to ask for clarification to the original question and intent of the question. We do this kind of thing every day.

At the very best, AI can only supply multiple different answers if a poorly worded question is asked or it misunderstands something in the original question, (they seem to be very bad at even that or simply can’t do it at all). And we would need to be able to choose the correct answer from several provided.

I didn’t say it should be stressful, I said it should be “work.” There is a big difference.

It’s a nice thought, but it has so many modifiers it’s pretty much worthless. Everything from road conditions, to time of day or night, to the size and weight and type of vehicle you are driving, to how old you are affects stopping distance and the interval you should be leaving.

Remember children - Driving should never be “relaxing.” It’s real work and demands your total concentration to protect yourself and everyone around you. So put the phone down and even turn off the radio. Put your head on a swivel like a fighter pilot. And have an escape plan for every inch you drive.

You ain’t likely to want to do that at -20F at highway speeds.

The issue isn’t “I don’t want to be cold.” The problem is when it’s below 20F/-7C, you need to wait long enough for the coolant to warm enough to evaporate the moisture in the defrost vents and the inside of the windshield. Otherwise the inside of the windshield frosts over and you can’t see well enough to drive safely. And the colder it gets, the longer it takes.

Do you need remote start? Nope. I don’t have it on my vehicles. But you will need to wait long enough to keep the windshield defrosted.

Yeah, the YTers I follow all are now using internally sourced ads where they get the money. While I will never use or want Hello Fresh or Manscape, I at least know the monies paid for those placements are going directly to the YTer I’m watching.

The downsides is that you need to be a fairly popular YTer to get such funds. Which is creating a high bar for new creators to start up.

I would assume he’s either a car collector or he owns a small fleet of work vehicles for his small business, (like a plumbing business or such).

Gotta wait for the blue light special though.

The issue is the complexity of the bespoke design of drive trains. It’s nigh on impossible to design a “one size fits all” or even “fits a majority” of solutions for a conversion kit that isn’t stupidly expensive.

I use Phind solving computer problems. It does cite the sources it uses. At least for distro and general Linux issues. So far, it’s been a very good resource when I’ve needed it.
