4 hours agoLiterally the only reason WinRAR had ever been used is because people either didn’t know about 7zip, or their parents dropped them on their heads causing them to “prefer WinRAR” 🤮

3·2 days agoI hate this timeline… It’s things like this that make me hope we actually do live in a simulation, and the devs are about to release a major bug fix…
7zip’s UI is fine, it’s just basic and doesn’t look as nice, but why would it need to? It’s UI definitely doesn’t make it difficult to use.
7zip is not only free, but it doesn’t ask you for money at all, it just works, and it supports extracting RAR files as well. It is true that WinRAR technically USED to be better, when 7zip was still fairly new, but literally the only reason anyone still prefers it today is nostalgia.
