It’s a poor analogy, but imagine a public IP like a hotel, there can be lots of guests (clients) at this hotel. Hotel policy is they won’t let any outsiders in unless you know the room number (port) of the person you’re trying to reach.

Imagine you and a friend are staying in separate hotels and want to give each other copies of your favorite Linux .ISOs, but neither of you knows the other’s room number - you show up at the hotel and the front desk tells you to pound sand because you don’t have their room number.

As long as one of you knows the other’s room number though, you can meet.

Torrenting without port forwarding means you can only trade your favorite .ISOs with people who have port forwarding enabled (sharing their room number to the tracker), which makes you less effective of a seeder. Enabling port forwarding allows you to share with anyone (sharing your room number with the tracker).

All of the banks I’ve used in the past utilize email or SMS for 2FA, which isn’t the must secure, but doesn’t require an app.

Sure, there are risks, but if the alternatives are pony up $100k for a new exosuit, or just don’t fucking walk again, I see why repair is an enticing option.

I’ve started choosing the companies I use based much more on the experience offered when their product/service DOESN’T work, rather than when it does.

If these companies are marketing their AI as being able to provide “answers” to your questions they should be liable for any libel they produce.

If they market it as “come have our letter generator give you statistically associated collections of letters to your prompt” then I guess they’re in the clear.

The problem is these AI companies currently exist on the business model of not paying for information, and that generally includes not wanting to pay content curators.

Google is probably the only one in a position to potentially outsource by making everyone solve a “does this hand look normal to you” CAPTCHA

They can try and train AI to detect AI, but that’s also difficult.

Also a good way to wear down your SD port if you remove this with any regularity.

My guess is you’re seeing the L2 chargers outside a grocery store or some such. Those charge so slowly you aren’t expected to stick around and look at them, you plug in and do your grocery shopping. If you’re looking to charge a significant amount, these are not it.

I’ve never seen a Level 3 charger with an advertisement. Hell, 90% of the time I have to scour the parking lot to find the charger because they’re usually hidden and unlabeled.

Bonus points, if you’re fortunate enough to have access to a power outlet where you park, you can usually do 99% of your charging from home, ad free.
