It’s fun, but I don’t think I’ll stick with it for too long. I dig the top-down stuff a lot more.
I also never got to a point where I was completely overpowered, like in Vampire Survivors, which I always enjoy.

How so? I actually think in recent years, they’ve gone away from making you log in all the time, with less daily quest and much better catch up mechanics, so it doesn’t matter too much if you don’t play for weeks or even months.
I think you’re looking at this through rose-tinted glasses.
In my opinion mounts, pets, toys or whatever don’t count as content, so in that case, you still get everything with the expansion and a sub.
But even if you think it’s content, back in the day you also already had Collectors edition mounts and pets, the stuff from Blizzcon (before it was digital), TCG codes, etc. Not much different than today I think.
Stopped buying there a long time ago when I realised I can’t backup my purchases and have to use their platforms to play.
Many games on Steam are actually DRM-free, but of course it’s not as easy as just going on GOG. You’d probably have to go to some 3rd-party website, like PCGamingWiki or SteamDB to find out.
I don’t get how anyone is getting screwed over.
Also, what’s an alternative? Everything is physical again? 99% of indie games cease to exist. But hey, at least you don’t have to fumble around with a few accounts, although CD-keys will probably be back, which is basically the same. Or would you rather buy directly from the devs or publishers? Great, accounts for every single one. Have fun with that.
I have no interest in playing this game myself, but I’ve been watching a streamer go thorugh the story mode. The combat is whatever, probably good enough if you like this type of game. The story between all the fights is told absolutely horribly though. Lots of stuff just gets skipped over or mentioned in a single picture. Like suddenly Goku is Super Saiyan God, with no explanation or a character is dead.
I’ve only heard good things and watched a Streamer playing it last year, and I want to play it eventually myself.
While I generally like Souls-like games, I never got into most Fromsoft games, except Elden Ring, so we’ll see how it goes.
Maybe Lies of P or Star Ocean The Second Story R, plus one or two “Survivors-like” (Halls of Torment, Death Must Die).
It also stinks that the first PC version will almost certainly end up being on Epic before steam.
Square is super inconsistent with this stuff, that it’s pretty hard to tell what’s going to be an Epic Exclusive and what’s not. I do hope there’s not going to be a second exclusivity period, before it’s coming to Steam though.
Nioh 2 and Satisfactory
The Trails series (Trails in the Sky and Cold Steel).
Some of the worst villains ever, and you’re constantly getting blue balled. The series keeps introducing new characters, that don’t matter, and just drag things out for hundreds and hundreds of hours.
Zero and Azure are great though, until they connect back to the main story at the end.

It looks like it was on sale a few days ago, and will probably be on sale again next week for the Fall Sale and Winter Sale after
