so. this is definately something phenomenological. not all knowledge is based on proofs but all proofs are based on postulates deep down.

I 100% say as a sentient human being that no llm I have used has any sentience. It can’t even understand its own output.

honestly with some people I knew im surprised it did not get stepped on while goofing around. It would be a totally plausible thing.

yeah I keep imagining how different things would be if we had 8 years of gore instead of bush in the first 8 years of the millenium. we got screwed on that hanging chad.

whats funny is I help found an environmental group in college and did a lot of recycling things and it took the gore movie for it to get on my radar.

its useful when going to a beach and such or hiking as its small enough to carry. I hate them being called disposable though because no one should use em once and ditch them. they are made of metal and can function for awhile.

this kinda reminds me of a security back and forth I had recently and tech security things in general. You get the technically this can be used like this and as you say no one wants to be the one against it if an incident ever happens.

anything you can with a normal one. I have used them and they are called disposable but you can use them till they become unusable. great for when your young and have not bought a real bbq setup.

Aaron is definately on my wall of heroes. I think much of our leadership does not understand how despite there being billions of people on the planet they are not just fungible commodities. That we lose every time and stunt our growth. I by no means mean we should have more populationa as what we have is to much for the biosphere. Its about smartly using what we have than thinking you can just replace a person with another.
I actually like responding to these things. Its nice to chat with someone. The problem generally is my bosses don’t like it as a use of my time. I sorta miss back when being a tech person meant helping people individually with what they needed half the time. It was a nice break from the servers and such.

I mean as opposed to all the non for profit and open source video game stores I totally get it.

these are camera systems so the person is not there ot detain or let loose. Im don’t think you quite get the situation. its the way the town does red light cameras. so the system flags someone runs a red. a peace officer reviews the video of the incident and decides if they get a violation for running a red or if they were in the left and had to wait for traffic or such.

it has played out and that does not seem to be the case. the town itself is good about not trying to make the police a profit center. A cop doing this would likely face discipline or being let go from community feedback.

my town got them but every thing flagged by the system has to be reviewed by a peace officer who officially gives the ticket and signs off that a violation actually occured.
I feel you. three years ago I was hoping for an update to that after the steamdeck. but now I don’t see it as achievable to get.

Many stores the producers bring their things in. It was not uncommon to get stuff from them to put up but the store itself generally did not make it. They just put up what they get. I don’t know what universe you live in but that is how mine has in meat space where you are making the comaparison. Promotions were usually more and bigger for the big guys. the guy who sold his homemade stuff maybe had a bit of space by the register.

im surprised they do promotion for free honestly but I doubt it would have much of an effect but not being so accessible to indie would make them look a lot better for articles like this.

its indicative of accessibility for startups. the way a company would change the metric is not gatekeep the smallfry.

Is this presented as a bad thing?
all robot manufacturers should be trying to make robots that can maintain and repair the robot. like they had one that could changed its batteries but they should change each others batteries.
