I like being able to make my character the way I want and an go where I want so Im a bit more motivated by open world than the story itself. I like the world to have a story. Being able to build and play my character in the way I want is the biggest thing for me in a game though. Like elden ring is the type of game I would (think I would) hate but because I could make my character like I wanted and use the playstyle I wanted I was able to get through the game.

100%. I can’t believe how much technology is things I dreamed of having but never thought of it as being applied in anything but a eutopic model. Basically our social advancement is lagging way behind our technical advancement. Heck we are going behind. It still gets me how we have a very good example of how communications should be looked at legally with the post office and how we intentionally do not use it as a baseline.

So ai is really good at coding but when all the humans who are really good at coding make a new company their ai product beats the older one. mmmmmm. Sorry our local news had this bit on what you can do with ai. one part that was funny was. people expect their workplace to give them a doc on how to use ai but that is not going to happen you have to figure it out for yourself. Its like well you see the management to not competent enough to use ai to create a doc on how they want ai used so its up to the general masses to use ai to figure out ai. Its not just ai but it feels like everything is pushed down to the customer. Its like a combination of pay to work things out yourself and work real hard and someday you will get paid for it. Things are nuts.

I know this is a joke but im old enough we used to install the os and had it on the network and eventually update it but then it got to the point were like being connected to the internet for like a minute and the machines were compromised. Thats when we got off our duffs and started making custom installs that had updates and configurations and software pre installed before we even connected it to the net.

im iffy on the social media thing. I would call it a type of stagnation. its not really improving anything. honestly the enshitification is kinda worse than stagntion. smarphones seemed incredible when the iphone and android first came out.

I kinda agree. The problem is college became the way to get a job and it was never meant for that. Everything used to be las and then majors pulled off into their own schools because there was just to much to learn in the actual major. If someone is going to do research or education then they are going to need that broad grounding in things outside the main field but like every job should not need that. An LAS school I went to people talked about how at one point it only had a few majors. Pre law, pre med, theology, math, and sciences.

or ai that evaluates. For me the backup works if the whole system actually works. Its more commonly known as disaster recovery.

as @[email protected] said. it should depend a bit on how its made. there have been things about making panels that would absorb frequencies we have at night. There are trade offs. I was under the impression that the reason plants are green is because they specialize on the red side which is more prevalent and then the blue because its the most energetic or something. Also I was under the impression most stars look basically white but the color thing is based on spectrums that predominate but like when you look at the sun it looks white and even a red star would look mostly whitish.

this drove me nuts at workplaces. we have to test the backups after backup. so many did not want to waste the resources. if it worked fine once it will always work fine to them.

yeah im older but finding some magazines in a dumpster was gold when I was young and some kid would manage to get a vhs tape or something that would get passed around. I babysat for some kids where the parents were fine with them seeing nudity in movies or such as long as it was not actual porn. They thought it was better to not make it taboo.

thats just switzerland. I remember it was insane how great korean internet was in the aughts.

would be great to make a distro with it that had a very easy way to remove it. Like remove X folder and it won’t do it and will detroy any record of one put in.

my wife likes it. I have to admit that seemingly being able to climb anywhere is sorta needs. Does feel more open.

likely part of it is to make their ai more affordable as presumably it comes with a license.
