I’m an older GenZ born in the late 90s and I’ve had to show a few younger peers how to torrent recently.

The idea of you needing a “special” program just for downloading a file seems to throw some of them off.

I do know a few young people are tech/programming wizards but “generally tech savy” people seem to be declining. It’s either you’re really into it or barely know anything outside popular apps.

One other thing I’ve noticed, People just seem to be more paranoid about downloading stuff not already installed on their devices. Which its good people give at least a bit of a shit about security but convincing people Firefox isn’t a virus gets a bit annoying (Yes I’ve had that conversation).

Pretty much just a different GUI, If you ever used Notepad++ it’s the same as that.

Notepadqq is basically an exact clone of Notepad++ but native on Linux.

It’s also near impossible to get real controllers here in the UK.

PS3 controllers still remain my favourite but had to switch to using a PS4 pad after getting scammed at multiple places.

Funnily the first time I tried Linux on my desktop was because I wanted to play BF4 but the EA App refused to launch on Windows 10 even after restarting/reinstalling everything.

I slapped Pop_OS on a backup SSD and got it running through Lutris within the hour.

Origin was a fucking nightmare to use even on Windows, and honestly…the EA desktop app wasn’t really an improvement.

Big businesses couldn’t care less about where the money comes from as long as it ends up in their pockets.

Only thing stopping them from sending hired thugs to your house to shake the change out your pockets is the law. And even then they might try if the profit outweighs the penalty.

Shout out to my buddy who has been using an un-activated copy of Win10 for over 5 years despite being called out anytime he shares his screen.

Can you remember the last version that worked for you? A quick workaround could be downloading an older build off the github.

Still this is extremely disappointing and hopefully someone forks it.

Devs who make the -h command actually useful are modern day saints.

Alterware Is the updated build of iW4x you can still download.

Works for either Steam or old iW4x builds if you still got the files laying around.

Just letting people know the files for the mod got leaked and some people are working on reviving it already.

There was a discord giving out the leaked build but it got shut down but over 1000 people are currently playing it.

The one kept at home until recently was some early 2000s white(yellowing) and blue thing, might have been Laser.

We had an Inkjet sometime around 2014 and went back to using the old one because it worked more of the time.
