They don’t need that. It’s not possible to increase the hype for GTA6. It is already at the physical maximum of hype.

I mean what are they going to charge them with? Isn’t the point of suing someone that they have to prove damages. So they would have to prove that slowly releasing information about their game somehow impacted their sales/profits wouldn’t they?

Profiting off their IP for example. The leaker has their own shitcoin. And chances are the build didn’t just materialise on its own on their Harddrive and some cybercrime was involved to get it, if not just breach of contract.

Well, I’m not sure what the burden of proof is exactly, but the argument that the game has a narrative aspect to it and that releasing information about the game, namely information related to the story and plot of the narrative, could spoil the game and curtail potential buyers seems reasonable, at least.

Their stock price going down is definitely enough to at least make it to trial. Maybe a jury or judge might determine that it dint actually cause damage overall, but it’d be silly to claim that there isn’t any damage claim whatsoever

If stocks drop because information that hypes people up for your product comes out it’s worse than crypto and everyone is being scammed.

The reason the stock is dropping is because they said you’ll get a product by x, and the product isn’t going to be ready. If you don’t make deadlines people think you are incompetent. People don’t like to invest in incompetent companies.

There is literally nothing anyone could do to change the level of hype in either direction. Publicity stunts are just a waste of money at this point.

You guys are crazy. Why would they take legal action for a marketing stunt ? Don’t you think the legal system would clap back if they file just for marketing ? The leeks are real

Seems like your out of the loop. They filed a dmca claim with California courts demanding records from Microsoft to identify the leaker.

Leaks as marketing is not a thing and has never been a thing, little bro.
