“A friend and I are…”
Me are going to buy glasses.
As a non-native speaker, it has always been weird to me, but this is still considered a normal, grammatically correct conversation:
- Who is buying glasses?
- Me.
You still wouldn’t say “me am going to buy glasses”.
While “I and a friend” seems to make more sense to me, considering all the weird stuff present in English, I’m fine letting this slip.
That’s kind of an informal shorthand. The formal correct answer would be “I am.”
I was being ‘funny’.
I chuckled. If you hadn’t posted that, I was gonna comment “me buy glasses.”
