Yeah huge pita to watch anything on YouTube now. Every 3rd recommended video is clearly made with AI, and I’m sorry but not sorry, your video needs to be made fully by humans for me to care. I don’t care how interesting the topic sounds, if there’s slop in there I’m not watching. I don’t care if the video is obviously low budget give it the human touch.

One of the more annoying things is when it’s AI stick figures, like bro, just draw them yourself, they’re stick figures.

Hell, a few weeks ago I came across a video titled “Why are slugs? Broadly speaking”. Its thumbnail proudly has a “No Ai” on there and it was a good and interesting video on snails and slugs.

I just switched off history and with that the recommendation screen. I only work with subscriptions on human made channels.

I have been clicking “don’t show channel” on these for 2 months now, so they show me same type of/same thing… from different channels.

If they don’t put any effort into creating it, why should I make any effort to consume it?

I mean, usually people consume art/media/etc because they like it, not out of an obligation to reward the creator’s effort.

And there’s a million and one different reasons why the context behind a piece causes someone to dislike it even if they initially liked it. It works the other way too, if you like something and you find out it had a cool story behind it, lots of people will like it even more.

“I fish the least digested looking bits of corn from the shit pile” is just not a good story lol

When William Osman took Anthropic money and held OpenSlop so small creators like Wing can show off their Walmart delivery drones.

All they had to do was put up a furry character going between two frames, mirrored, and the occasional slow scroll over a Wikipedia page, but somehow they would prefer to play with the keys the billionaires are jingling in our faces while they loot the planet for the last hundred years of capital it’s capable of producing.
