If you’re going to get expensive hardware and be digital only, might as well go PC while you can. The money you save not having to pay PS Plus to play with friends would add up quick. Not to mention open source, privacy respecting options, no need to be online, modding, more welcoming communities, emulation, etc. If you want a console experience, you can use something like Bazzite or SteamOS.
You will be a prisoner of the game companies. You’re still looking to get a fix like a junkie. You they will abuse worst of all in the end.

I understood that the other poster was referring to piracy. Many companies will treat you like a criminal for that.
