Instead of sending threatening letters/emails that no one reads, some are now temporarily blocking service until you access a captive portal that makes you acknowledge the notice. Probably mostly because the media companies bought up most of the ISPs, in the US at least.

I had a bit of a reverse situation where ATT didn’t tell me I was receiving complaints until they bulk uploaded like 40 into their compliance portal.
